What is a Cream Sauce ?
An example of a cream sauce is the Alfredo sauce which is a white sauce often used to accompany pasta dishes. Traditionally, it was made with butter and Parmesan cheese, but more recently, and especially in the United States, this sauce also includes heavy cream. Other alternatives are tomatoes added to the cream sauce which would give you the Rose also called Tomato Alfredo. It is a delicious topping for pasta, chicken, seafood and vegetables.
